Challenge
Client had multiple competing high-priority business drivers (including a recent merger and upcoming tradeshow) and wanted to determine how to address their strategic technology needs. They also desired assistance with managing and prioritizing the work of their technology team & managed service provider.
Approach
- Interviewed stakeholders across the association and reviewed existing documentation to develop a 360 degree view of current technology systems, constraints, and risks
- Served as Fractional Chief Information Technology Officer (CIO/CTO) to provide leadership, guidance, and direction to IT team and Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Coached and managed personnel (including weekly 1:1 meeting with IT staff)
- Provided recommendations and advised the CFO on active technology priorities, projects, and risks
- Developed comprehensive report that assessed technology team capabilities; cataloged business systems & data; and identified risks and constraints to the association's objectives
Outcome
Client received a prioritized list of actionable recommendations that holistically identified their needs across people, process, and technology dimensions.
